I have been spending the last week finishing some orders and today I sent them off, which means that I have four new stockists:

The Craft Centre and Design Gallery, Leeds, West Yorkshire

Steven Burgess Fine Furniture, Stirling, Scotland

The Gallery, at Masham, North Yorkshire

The Beetroot Tree Gallery, Draycott, Derbyshire

The next job is to try to build up some stock. It may seem a long way away, but I’ve got two big fairs in October, The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair and MADE LONDON, as well as the Living North Christmas Fair in mid-November.  They are all a couple of weeks after each other, leaving no time for making stock in between; and I’m going to need stock for the run up to Christmas. There will be quite a lot of time over the summer when I am not going to be able to make very much, so I need to give myself a head start.

Karen Griffiths pointed me in the direction of another excellent Goldmark Gallery film, which I have posted below (and in the ‘Video’ section on the right). This one is a demonstration, by Phil Rogers. He talks with clarity about the processes behind his own making, as he throws various shapes on the wheel. I particularly like it when he describes throwing as 3-dimensional drawing.

Where Am I?
